

Nicholas A. Liberati, 96, of East Syracuse, passed away Friday at James Square. Born in Syracuse, he was a life resident of the Syracuse area and also a resident of Brewerton for 35 years. Mr. Liberati retired from Operating Engineers Local 545 after 55 years of service. A communicant of St. Matthew’s Church, he was an avid bowler and a former parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Brewerton.
Nicholas is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Helen (Richards) Liberati; two daughters, Marie (Jim) Rodgers of FL and Helen ( Gary) Hurd of TN; one son, Thomas (Alicia) Trathen of Mattydale; sisters, Rose Chermonti and Marion Mazzuca, both of Syracuse, Connie Szaraz of Vernon, Vera (Peter) Serino and Betty Liberati, both of Eastwood; brother, Joseph (Beulah) Liberati of Syracuse; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 8 A.M. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 9 A.M. at St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
