

Ruth E. Williams, 78, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday surrounded by her family after a short illness. Born in Mims, FL she graduated from Campbell Street High School in 1952. She also attended Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, FL and Florida Normal College in St. Augustine, FL. Ruth was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues for many years. She was employed by General Electric, Anaren Microwave and Atonement Day Care. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Williams.
Ruth is survived by four sisters, Eugenia McNeil, Cynthia Brown and Mattie Hightower all of Syracuse and Catherine Shelton of Daytona Beach, FL; four brothers, George Shelton of Albany, NY, Leon Shelton and Ralph Shelton both of Daytona Beach, FL and Harry Shelton of Syracuse, NY and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with funeral services to follow at noon at St. Luke’s Missionary Baptist Church, 216 Lexington Avenue, Syracuse. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
