

Sabina T. Choyke, 83, of Camillus passed away on Thanksgiving morning after an extended illness. She was born in Queens, NY on May 7, 1929 to Dominic and Emma Savino. Sabina married the late James Choyke and moved many times until settling in Medford Lakes, NJ where she worked as a school crossing guard for twenty years. Her great passion was singing. She was a member of Sweet Adelines International for over 25 years, singing with the Jersey Sound Chorus. Sabina held several positions in this organization and was the producer of many phenomenal shows. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren, especially sharing her love of music with them. Sabina always had music playing in her home and never left the house without her iPod. She loved going to the “shore” and traveling with her friends from Sweet Adelines.
Sabina is survived by two daughters, Denise (Alan) Weinberger, Michele (Mark) Stephenson; six grandchildren, Amy (Joseph) Weinberger-Bargagni, Julie (James) Martin, Jennie Weinberger, Anna Weinberger, Joel Stephenson, Jade Stephenson; and one great-grandchild, Emma Martin.
Friends may call on Monday from 4pm – 7pm at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park St, Syracuse, NY 13208. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts, Syracuse, NY 13207 on Tuesday at 10am.
