Susan Rose Cogliandro, 78 of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Saturday at the Francis House surrounded by her loving family. She was a graduate of North High School. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and exceptional cook/baker. She gave every ounce of her being to her family, whether it was baking, cooking or loving she did it with all of her heart. She taught her children patience, tolerance, love and of course a thing or two about creating masterpieces in the kitchen! She was famous for her anise cookies and fried meatballs. She embraced all of her children’s friends and was affectionately known as Mama Sue or Mrs. C. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Elena Salomone.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Vincent, her son Dominick (Julie) Cogliandro and five daughters, Tina (Mark) Bielak, Elena (Dennis) Regin, Grace (John) Bergemann, Susan (Dave) Beitz, Linda (Sergio) Zappala, 19 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two brothers, William (Patricia) Salomone and Albert Salomone. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park St. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. We want to express our extreme gratitude to the loving and caring staff at the Francis House. We also want to thank the staff of 7M at Crouse Hospital. PLEASE respect the wishes of the family and make donations to the Francis House or Hospice of CNY instead of gifts or flowers. The family would be ever so grateful.
