Teresa Barbera D'Arrigo

Teresa Barbera D’Arrigo, 87, born in Messina, Sicily, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013 at James Square surrounded by her loving family. An accomplished seamstress, Teresa retired from Learbury’s. She was filled with love and compassion for family and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and spending summers in Sacketts Harbor. Teresa made many friends with her warm and contagious smile. She will be sadly missed. Her love and time was unconditional for her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Francesco Barbera; her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph D’Arrigo; and adoring grandson, Andrew Prior.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Teresa’s surviving children include, Thomas (Marie) D’Arrigo, Rosemarie (David) Prior, Frank (Robin) D’Arrigo, Anthony (Kate) D’Arrigo, Jerry (Marypat) D’Arrigo, and John (Betty) D’Arrigo; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:45 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral mass on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home, 1500 Park Street, Syracuse.
