Joe J. Frey

Joe Jaynes Frey passed away in Portland, Texas, on May 13, 2015 at the age of 86. He was born on July 6, 1928, in Waco, Texas. Joe served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He then entered college and graduated from North Texas University and Texas State University. Joe was a much loved educator, teaching Junior High Math in Taft I.S.D.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Velma Jaynes Frey and father, Joe Frey; grandparents, Willie Jaynes and Charles Ray Jaynes. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Virginia Walberg Frey, whom he married on December 26, 1950.

Visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, Friday, May 15, 2015; at 9:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will at Taft Memorial Park at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Taft Public Library.
