Manuel served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a Prisoner of War and was awarded the Prisoner or War Metal, European Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Croix De Guerre with Vermillion Star Metal and American Defense Service Medal. Manuel was self-employed and owned several businesses in the Taft area. He was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years.
Manuel leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of sixty-six years, Herminia “Minnie” Granado; sons, Manuel “Gene” E. (Nancy) Granado, Earl (Belinda) Granado; daughter, Cindy (Glenn) DuBose; grandchildren: Christina L. (Rick) Quintanilla, Leslie A. Granado, Kimberly Granado, Brooke V. Norris, Brad G. DuBose and Brianne M. DuBose.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 27, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Interment will follow the service at Taft Memorial Park.
