Maria S. Cruz

Maria S. Cruz, 83, passed away on March 23, 2018 in Taft, Texas. She was born on August 22, 1934 in Three Rivers, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Mosqueda; father, Alejandro Galvan; husband, Gregorio Cruz, Sr., and sisters, Beatrice Muniz and Lily Garcia.

She is survived by her children: Maria (Juan) Elizondo, Gregorio Cruz, Jr., Jose (Martha) Cruz, Alex (Patricia) Cruz, Melinda (Arturo) Flores, David Cruz, and Michael Cruz; siblings, Elena “Nena” Garza, Josephine Handy and David D. Garcia; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on March 26, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home-Taft. A Continued Visitation will be held on March 27, 2018 from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home-Taft with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on March 28, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow at Taft Memorial Park.
