Amanda Kristine (Morgan) Hixson

October 14, 1988October 7, 2021

Rose, OK- Memorial services for Amanda Kristine (Morgan) Hixson will be held on Friday, October 15th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at West Lawn Cemetery in Henryetta, OK, with Pastor Shannon Morgan officiating. Online condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com. Amanda Kristine (Morgan) Hixson was born on October 14th, 1988 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Shannon and Kristi (Garner) Morgan. She grew up with one sister, Kaitlin Morgan and one brother, Garrett Morgan, and graduated from Paragould High School in Paragould, AR where her parents served as pastors . Amanda began her collegiate studies at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK with the desire to become a physician, but certain adversities in life restrained her from fulfilling that dream. Amanda was a kind and gentle person who never harmed a soul her entire life. She was generous and selfless and loved to give gifts to others. She could not keep a secret and everyone knew what gifts they would receive well before Christmas. She was perceptive, taking in everything around her. She possessed a sweet smile and a quiet demeanor. Amanda, an avid reader, never met a genre of literature that she did not like. If you ever entered a conversation with her, you knew the depth of her soul. In her free time, Amanda enjoyed reading, crocheting, flee markets, and craft fairs. Autumn was her favorite season. Sooner born and Sooner bred, she loved the OU Sooners and never missed the opportunity to cheer them on or talk about it after an excruciating loss, or more frequently a thrilling victory. She loved animals of all kinds, especially her feline friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her parents and siblings were the most important people in her world. Amanda passed quietly and peacefully from this life at her home in Rose, OK, on October 7th, 2021. Heaven needed another angel and she just went to sleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus. She was 32 years old, one week short of her 33rd birthday, and she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Earth was a better place with her presence and heaven is richer for her presence now. Amanda is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Shelton Garner and wife Christine (Dunaway) Garner of Tahlequah OK, and two aunts, Shelly Garner and Delana Garner. Those who survive Amanda and remain to cherish her memory include her significant other, Marvin “Dicky” Piguet, Jr. of Rose, OK; her mother and father, Shannon Morgan of Wichita, KS, and Kristi (Garner) Morgan of Wagoner, OK; her sister, Kaitlin Morgan of Bellevue, WA; and her brother, Garrett Morgan of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by her paternal grandfather, Ron Morgan of Tahlequah, OK; paternal grandmother, Dianna Payton and husband Randy of Tulsa, OK; aunt Paula Chaffin and husband Harvey of Tahlequah, OK; and aunt Heather Laney and husband Kevin of Shawnee, KS. Amanda also leaves a host of other family and friends including a beloved nephew Viktor Bailey who she adored and called "Goobers.", as well as multiple cousins, great aunts and uncles, and many friends.

I was honored to know Amanda when she was a child in Lafayette, LA. Her father was the pastor of the church where I served as the children’s leader, and our families were intertwined at the time. Amanda was always such as a sweet girl, and played her role well in the kids’ Christmas play! We will miss her.

My name is April I knew Amanda she had been my sister in law. She was such a beautiful person from the inside out and loved everyone and excepted me and my children into her life with open arms. Was always trying to give my children some kittens and gave the little ones toys when we would see her and candy and they loved to eat gum balls together. She will be deeply missed and I pray for her family and friends that God gives you peace and rest knowing she is with him. God bless you all
