Benjamin Carroll Buscher, or simply Ben to his family and friends, was born July 3, 1974 in Midwest City, OK, the son of Roy Wesley and Barbara Jane (Norris) Buscher. He was a graduate of Eureka Junior Senior High in Kansas in 1992 and went on to continue his education in Heating and Air at the University Tech Institute of Phoenix, AZ. Ben was very driven from a young age. At only 14 years old, he started working as a paperboy in Abilene, KS and became an entrepreneur by 17, running the Cherokee Bowl and Convenience Store in Eureka, KS where he worked alongside his dad. During this time, he met the love of his life, Kelly Jo Clark, and the two were married August 21, 1993 in Siloam Springs, AR. They have shared over 31 years of life’s moments and memories with their four children, Daryll, Edison, Christina and Michelle. A bit of a jack of all trades, Ben could work on just about anything. His daughter, Christina, would sneak in to the garage with Ben, Roy and Lance to tinker around on his pickup trucks along with their first family dog, George. He went on to work for the Street Department for the City of Eureka for twelve years. Ben and the family then relocated to Watts, OK, working a few temporary positions until finding his home with PolyTech Injection Molding Company in Prairie Grove, AR in 2006. Ben was a faithful team member and created lasting friendships during his time there.
When he wasn’t working, he loved to be with his kids or out with his buddies. He was quite the baseball player when he was younger, playing for the Junior Minor Leagues, but bowling was a passion he carried on throughout his life. From owning his own bowling alley to joining various bowling leagues, he loved the game and more importantly, those he shared it with. Some of the greatest times he had with his son, Daryll, was jamming out to his 80’s music on the way to the bowling alley for league nights. He was always up for a round of golf or a trip out to his favorite fishing hole, even competing in the occasional crappie tournament. Edison remembers getting to go with his dad and the guys for a golf expedition, where they had a hot pepper contest, laughing and trying to chase them with milk to win. He enjoyed family gatherings and a good game of horseshoes. He was quite the craftsman, taking up woodworking through the years. Ben was a true family man and loyal friend. Being a man of integrity and generosity were among his most honorable traits, never hesitating to give his last dollar or the shirt off his back to help someone in need. A believer of the Wesleyan Faith, Ben sought a life of holiness and to reflect the light of Jesus to others. On February 21, 2025, he was called to his eternal home in Tulsa, OK at the age of 50 years old. He will be greatly missed all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jane Buscher, grandparents, James Orville and Dorothy Marie Norris and Henry Labon Buscher and Wilma Mae (Erbe) Buscher, and four uncles, Jerry Dale Norris, Neil Buscher, Ernie Buscher, and Hurschel Buscher, and three aunts, Virginia Darlene Tinker, Evelyn Hogshooter, and Anne (Buscher) Sayre.
His memory lives on through his wife, Kelly Jo Bushcer of the home, two sons, Daryll Rae Buscher and Edison Rae Buscher, both of Watts, OK, two daughters, Christina Clark and Michelle Tate also of Watts, OK. He also leaves his father, Roy Wesley Buscher of Missouri, two brothers, Aaron Buscher and Dwight Buscher of Watts, OK and two sisters, Cheryl “Chermae” Buscher of Watts, OK and Taley Corwin of Texas. His legacy lives on through his 23 grandchildren, Alex, Kiley, Guineviere, Ivey, Emmaleigh Cecelia, Letty, Zavier, Chase, Malachai, Isaiah, Roxie, Jabon, Austin, Krieos, Riley, Layla, Ablaza, Rayna, Haven, Deena, Eric and Ethan, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, his PolyTech family and numerous friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
A Celebration of Ben’s life was held Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the Watts Community Building.
