Bettyrae Larson-Lawrence was born on January 28th, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Roy and Bess (Simonds) Larson. She grew up in household with her brother and sister, Roy and Beverly. She attended and graduated high school then she obtained her Associates in Office Management, and worked her entire working career as a Secretary /Office Manager. It was during WWII that Bettyrae met and married her husband , Dr. Clifton Lawrence. He dedicated his service career to 20 years as a Physical Trainer, Small Arms Instructor and Supply Officer, while Bettyrae raised their family of two sons, Scott and Patrick. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was the support behind her husband and her sons career and activities. She was strong willed but possessed a wonderful sense of humor. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed being out in the yard, working in her flower beds. She was the kind of friend and neighbor that everyone admires, kind, loyal trustworthy. She was the proud grandmother of Cameron and Emily, and followed all their endeavors with the pride of a grandmother. A Christian by faith, she was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church. Her husband passed from this life in 2008, and Bettyrae continued with keeping up with her family until her health would no longer permit. The Lord called this kind and faithful woman home from her labors on May 21st, 2018 in Muskogee, OK. She was 94 years old. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, her husband Dr. Clifton Lawrence and her sister, Beverly Larson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Scott Lawrence of Tahlequah, OK and Patrick Lawrence and wife Christine of Colorado Springs, CO. She leaves one brother, Roy Larson of Minneapolis, MN. She lives on in her two grandchildren, Cameron Lawrence of Tulsa, OK and Emily Lawrence of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
