

Billy Ray Pritchett was born on June 11, 1947 in Tahlequah, OK. He was the son of Alice Pritchett and was the third oldest among his six siblings, Lena Faye, John T, Richard, Rita, Bonita and Douglas. Billy was dealt a difficult hand during his teen years, suffering a car accident that would paralyze one side of his body. He did not allow this challenge to hold him back in life. He went on to graduate from Tahlequah High School and would later move to Oklahoma City where he married the love of his life, Debra. They were blessed with one son and one daughter. Billy preferred the simple things in life and didn’t want anyone making a fuss over him. He enjoyed watching all the old classics on TV like The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, Gunsmoke and The Dukes of Hazzard. He had a unique sense of humor and could tell the corniest jokes. As his health began to fail, he moved back home to Tahlequah to be around family. On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, he passed from this life at the age of 77 years old. The laughter and adoring jokes will be truly missed by those that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Pritchett, mother, Alice Pritchett, two brothers, John T Pritchett and Douglas Rooster, two sisters, Lena Faye Ballard and Bonita Rooster, brother-in-law, William Stopp, two nephews, Dwane McLemore and Eric Rooster, and one niece, Tara Landaverde.
He is survived by his two children, Scott Ray Pritchett of Bartlesville, OK and Christy Pritchett of Texas. His memory lives on through is his sister, Rita Stopp of Tahlequah, OK, brother, Richard Pritchett and wife Pam of Tahlequah, OK, two grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
