Carman Pearl Labby

Carman Pearl Labby was born in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of the late Elmer Loyd and Dottie “Tense” (Freeman) Whorton. Carman was a graduated of Oaks High School and one of eight children to bless the home. Carmen was a very caring person that would give the shirt off her back to help a complete stranger. She managed to remain upbeat and happy regardless of the situation. She was the mother of one daughter, Angela Cole and one son, Jeremy Labby. In 1986, she met and married Mark Davis Labby in Marshall, Texas. Carmen seemed to be always working, taking care of her rent houses and fixing anything that needed it, while wearing a dress. She pulled a trailer everywhere she went and kept a keen eye for that next bargain. Shopping was one of her favorite things to do, especially stopping off at the junk stores and finding her next treasure. The occasional thrill of riding one of her many motorcycles was a day well spent. Carmen was very stubborn and would argue her case until she was satisfied you shared her opinion. A part of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church and Christian by faith, the Lord called his good and faithful servant home on April 30, 2021 in Rose, OK. She will be dearly missed by all that were blessed to know her

Those that went before her include her daughter, Angela Cole Labby at the age of four, her parents, her husband, one brother, Manford “Bull” Dean Whorton and his wife Linda and mother-in-law, Margie Labby.

Carmen is survived by one son, Jeremy Labby, two brothers, Lester Garland Whorton and ex-wife Cindy of Oaks, OK, and Darvin Whorton and wife Nancy of Rose, OK, four sisters, Levina “Sis”Gail Davis of Teresita, OK, Brenda Sue Busby of Oaks, OK, Violet Kay Thompson of Rose, OK and Elaine Whorton of Spavinaw, OK as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Whorton Family Cemetery with Pastors Brad Stovall and Tom Claxton officiating. Pallbearers for Carman will be James Davis, Jeremy Laby, Lee Whorton, Tony Claxton, and Josh Maher and honorary pallbearer will be Adam Maher.
