Cathy Lee Jackson

A homemaker by heart and trade, Cathy could make a house feel like home, whether it was the smell of something cooking on the stove or the way she could turn any room into a reflection of her creativity. She loved browsing flea markets and antique shops, always on the hunt for something old she could bring back to life with a little paint and imagination. Cathy could sew, decorate, and remodel just about anything she set her mind to, and she found joy in making beautiful spaces for the people she loved. Cathy was fiercely protective of her children and grandchildren, their biggest defender and loudest cheerleader, and she loved long drives, cooking big family meals, and bragging on her grandkids every chance she got.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Michael David Jackson, Sr.; children Andrea and husband Samuel Butts, James Beck, and Michael David Jackson, Jr; grandchildren Trace Beck, Tyler Nail, Chandler Nail, Cadon Beck, Kaitlyn Ballard, Kyle Ballard, Audrey Jackson, Koda Butts, and Ephraim Butts; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Margie; daughter Janette Ballard, and daughter-in-law Chasity Beck; siblings Timothy Ragsdale Sr., Dale Ragsdale, Blaine Ragsdale, Larry Ragsdale, Mark Ragsdale, Tommy Wayne Ragsdale, Joe Michael Ragsdale, Teresa Adams, Lois Sarten, and Stella Vaillancourt; and granddaughter Casandra Winsett.

Cathy’s kindness, quick wit, and strong spirit will be missed beyond measure, but her love will live on in the hearts and homes she helped build.
