Chester Green was born in Park Hill, OK on December 24th, 1927, the son of Acie and Sarah (Carter) Green. After he completed high school, Chester enlisted into the United States Army where he served in the Artillery Unit during the Korean War, from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1950. He returned to the Tahlequah area and began his career of Electrician for Western Electric and raising his Hereford cattle. He married Geneva Shaver in 1974, together they combined their families with seven children total , Brenda, Linda, Richard , James, Deanna, Judy and Mitchell. Chester was a hard working man who adored his family and friends. When he had the chance, Chester could be found riding the fields on his trusted horse Jo-Jo, watching his cattle. He enjoyed the occasional fishing or hunting trip. The cattle sales held every Saturday were a weekly treat for Chester and the kids. He loved to get a cup of coffee and share in a good story or joke. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a welcoming smile. He never met a stranger and liked to chat every chance he got. He raised his own alfalfa and beautiful vegetable gardens. He loved the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren the best. He always had “goodies” hidden away for when the grandchildren paid him a visit. He was so very proud of them and all their accomplishments. He was a member of American Legion Post #0135, the VFW, the American Polled Hereford Association, and a 32nd Degree Mason at Cherokee Lodge #10. Chester was a man of determination. Even after his health began to fail him, Chester continued to spend every moment he could enjoying the company of his family. A Christian by faith, Chester was called home from his labors on Friday, August 30th, 2013 in Park Hill, OK at his home with his loved ones gathered close to his side. Chester was 85 years old.
