Christopher Lee Jones, age 46, passed from this life on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at his home in Tahlequah. He was born on March 19, 1979 in Casa Grande, AZ, the son of David M. and Brenda K. (Clayton) Jones.
Chris started his education in Coolidge, AZ, before moving to Oklahoma where he attended Tahlequah Public School. After school, he went on to work with Oklahoma Production Center, spent some time on the road as a truck driver, and was a heavy equipment operator for Jerry’s Excavation for many years.
He was a man defined by hard work, skill, and heart. He took pride in everything he did, whether it was woodworking, welding, or tackling a project around the house. He had a gift for creating and fixing things, and his craftsmanship spoke louder than words. Outside of work, he found peace outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, and spending time under the open sky. Cooking out with his family was one of his greatest joys—simple moments filled with laughter, good food, and togetherness. He was quite the gamer, often taking some downtime to play on his PlayStation. He also had a unique appreciation for history and the unusual, collecting vintage items and skulls, each with its own story and meaning.
Above all else, he loved his family deeply. He was a good-hearted person—kind, loyal, and always willing to help others. His strength, generosity, and love will be remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, David and Brenda Jones of Tahlequah, OK, his companion, Michelle Spencer of the home, his cherished daughter, Helen Amy LaVerne Jones of Tahlequah, OK and granddaughter, Adalynn Lela Marie Fountain. He also leaves one brother, David Matthew Jones and wife Tisha of Colcord, OK, nieces and nephews, Kristen M. Jones of Fayetteville, AR, Rylee Jones of Georgetown, TX, Kinsley Jones of Colcord, OK, and Buddy Jones of Tahlequah, OK, great-niece, Anna Jones and great-nephew, Kingston Jones as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins from the surrounding area and many friends and loved ones.
A visitation will be held on February 1, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Funeral services will take place on February 2, 2026 starting at 2:00 pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Dale Wilson officiating. Chris will be laid to rest at Tahlequah City Cemetery.
Following services, family and friends are invited for a reception and time of fellowship at a local family residence in Tahlequah.
