Christopher Allen Vanbuskirk, or Chris to his many family and friends, was born on November 28th, 1981 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Perry and Kathy (Dew) Vanbuskirk. He grew up with his sister, Melissa Nicole and attended school in Tahlequah and graduated from school there. He began his working career at Cherokee Nation as a electrical maintenance specialist at Cherokee Nation Health Facilities. He met and married his best friend and the light of his life, Darla Washington in June of 2005. Together they raised three daughters, Leah Jae, Kylee Rae, and Natalie Lynn. Chris was a hard working man, who never hesitated to do what was needed to support and care for the family he loved. When he wasn’t working, there was nothing he loved more than time spent with his wife and their daughters, from coaching softball to working as a shade tree mechanic on the cars. He loved get togethers with his friends from cook outs to just hanging out and talking. He had the most wonderful laugh and made everyone around him happy. Chris was the kind of husband, father, brother, son and friend that made everyone happy by just being there when you needed him. He knew how to make everyone feel included and was always ready to liven the place up with a joke or two. He was kind, considerate, helpful and loved people. He was so very proud of his daughters and all the activities they participated in. Chris was a Christian by faith. The Lord called this kind and loving man home from his labors all too soon on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 in Tahlequah, OK. He was 36 years young and has left a void that will be impossible to fill.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his loving wife Darla of the home in Tahlequah. He leaves his daughters, Leah, Kylee, and Natalie also of the home. He also leaves his parents, Perry Vanbuskirk of Moodys, OK and his mother, Kathy Dew also of Moodys, OK. He has a sister, Melissa Nicole dew of Moodys, OK, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention. We will see you again someday, until then we hold you in our hearts. We Love You.
