Clair Louise Squyres-Wells

Tahlequah, OK- Clair Louise Squyres-Wells, of Tahlequah, OK passed away on March 9, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. She was 62 years old. Services for Clair will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday March 13, 2012 at Reed Culver Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Tahlequah City, Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday March 12, 2012 8:00 A.M to 8:00 P.M.

Clair Louise (Squyres)Wells was born on October 11, 1949 the daughter of Max and Louise (Maner) Squyres. Clair lived most of her life in Tahlequah where she attended Tahlequah High school and earned a bachelor’s degree Cum Laude in Education from Northeastern State University. She taught third grade at Cherokee Elementary school in Tahlequah for ten years and then began her work in the family business at First State Bank of Tahlequah and eventually became owner of the bank, Liberty Finance Inc., Action Loan, and Liberty Finance of Okmulgee. Clair was also a member of the local 4H club during her youth and enjoyed helping to support them throughout her life. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, movies, games, cooking, acting, and being the Hostess of gatherings at home and as part of her work. Technology was another interest of Clair’s and she was fascinated by all of the latest ideas and gadgets that technology had to offer. She most of all loved her family, as they spent most of their free time together, both at work and having fun together. She adored her two grandchildren, Jackson and Zoey.

Clair is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Joe Squyres.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Andrew Wells and his wife Ashley of Tahlequah, her daughters Jennifer Cadengo of Houston, TX, and Amelia Wells of Tahlequah, a brother Earl Squyres of Driggs, Idaho, a sister Terri Squyres of Tahlequah, two grandchildren Jackson Cadengo, and Zoey Wells as well as a host of other friends, family, and loved ones.
