Cody Kessler

Cody Allen Kessler, age 22 of Broken Arrow, OK, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his home in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born on December 2, 2000 in Muskogee, OK. Cody was a very special person that loved everyone he met. It is hard to understand how someone can love so unconditionally, but Cody never understood how you couldn’t. In his short life, he faced more adversity than most will ever come in contact with. He seemed to remain happy and seek out the things he enjoyed. It didn’t take a lot to make Cody happy, from setting in his favorite chair swinging a towel or shirt around so he could feel the breeze it created or listening to music just to feel the beat. Cody enjoyed colorful lights and watching how the colors changed. He never missed a chance to mimic other people, especially if they made a funny noise. His physical and mental handicaps may have limited what he could accomplish in life, but it never took away from the love others felt just by being around him. Cody leaves a void that will never be filled in the lives of those that loved and cared for him.

Left to remember the smiles he shared include his parents Kelly and Season Callaway, three siblings Sydni, Meilani, and Anderson, as well as, some very special caregivers; Lacy Reed, Carla Cosper-Smith, Roger Jalbert, and Ardie Ezell.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah, OK.
