Daniel Eugene Kelley

Daniel spent his working years as a carpet installer and was never one to shy away from hard work. Whether he was hunting, working in the yard, fixing something, building something, or figuring out how to make something work, sitting still was rarely the plan. Daniel also worked with his Dad for many years installing floors. Just as much a part of Daniel as his hardworking nature was his sense of humor. He was always making jokes and had a knack for finding something funny in everyday life. Those who knew him knew there was usually a comment coming, whether anyone asked for one or not. His humor, quick wit, and ability to make people laugh are among the many things his family and friends will miss most. Daniel also enjoyed trips to the casino, where he was always willing to see if luck happened to be on his side that day. Between hunting, tinkering with projects, working in the yard, and the occasional casino trip, Daniel knew how to stay busy and enjoy life in his own way.

Daniel is survived by his mother, Kathryn Ann Garner; sisters, Dana Kelley and Alexis Kelley; stepbrothers, Jacob Kirk and Chris Kirk; nephew, Dylan Elkins; niece, Elaina Kelley; great-nieces, Brynlee Elkins and Layla Elkins; his aunt, Pam Elk, who was also his friend, neighbor, and caretaker; and a host of aunts, uncles, family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Laverne Eugene Kelley; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his uncle, Jackie Kelley.

Daniel will be remembered for working hard, laughing often, and being unapologetically himself. He leaves behind more than memories; he leaves behind stories that will continue to be told, jokes that will still get repeated, and probably a few things he fixed that nobody else quite knows how to fix again. For those who loved him, there will always be a little bit of Daniel in the laughter that follows when those stories are told.
