

Darrell E. Wilson was born on October 19, 1951 in Tahlequah, OK; he was raised by Harry and Geneva Wilson. A lifelong member of the Briggs Community, he grew up running the countryside with eight siblings. Darrell liked to work outdoors, tending to the plants at local nurseries throughout his life. He enjoyed a peaceful and simple life. When he wasn’t working, he liked to kick back in his easy chair and watch television. He was a big fan of all the old westerns like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood along with the original 1931 classic, Frankenstein. Darrell was an Oklahoma Sooners fan and loved to watch OU Football and horse races. He would often sit around and play cards with his long-time friends, Archie, Johnny, Danny, Sooner, Joe, and Pork. During his younger years, he liked to play checkers and dominoes. He was an avid coin collector. Above all, he loved his family and had a special relationship with his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Cedar Tree Baptist Church. On Friday, February 16, 2024, he passed from this life at the age of 72 years old.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Louise Pritchett and three sisters, Carolyn Castillo, Denise Drywater and Sharon Scraper.
Those left to remember Darrell include his brothers, Sam Wilson and wife Phyllis and Clayton Pritchett, both of Tahlequah, OK and three sisters, Jolene (Pritchett) Vann and husband Kevin of Tahlequah, OK, Ladonna Garcia and husband Jose of Tahlequah, OK and Karen Pritchett of Claremore, OK. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, close friends, Archie French, Johnny Fields, Danny Deckard, Sooner Reese, Joe Reese, as well as other family and loved ones that will cherish his memory.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Darrell will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00am at Elm Tree Baptist Church with Archie French officiating. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Tree Cemetery in Briggs.
Serving as pallbearers are Billie Long, Brandon Blackwood, Cory Torres, Daniel Pritchett, Logan Pritchett and Jaylen Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers include Archie French, George French, Danny Deckard and Johnny Fields.
