Donald “Chick” Dean Morgan was born on July 27th, 1944 in Lost City, OK, the son of Nolan “Jud” Edward and Sylvia Marie (York) Morgan. He was raised in a home with three brothers and three sisters, Butch, Darrell, Ronald, Christine, Pat, and Kay. He attended school in Hulbert, OK, and played guitar in the band “Chick and the Chickadees”. He loved music. After he graduated, he began his working career at Special Enterprises, now called Western Hills Lodge, in the restaurant. This job was kept for 47 years of faithful service. His free time was spent at the nearest fishing hole, catfishing. He loved them to the point where he would turn down a steak for a good catfish dinner! He also enjoyed going out to Outback Steakhouse and getting a Blooming Onion. Chick was serious by nature, and never really talked much around other people. However, once he felt like he knew and trusted you, he would talk your ear off! He was usually in the company of his canine companion, a Maltese he named “Acey, the Super Pup”. Saturday night, he liked to turn on the TV and watch “The Presley’s”, along with his friend and caregiver, Gilbert. A Christian by faith, Chick attended the Cedar Grove Church. The Lord called this faithful servant home from his many labors on June 7th, 2021 in Okmulgee, OK, after reaching the age of 75 years. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his grandparents, one brother Ronald Morgan and two sisters, Pat Brave, and Kay Ballou.
He is remembered by his surviving brothers and sister, Gary “Butch” Morgan of Wagoner, OK, Darrell Morgan of Wagoner, OK, and Christine Candy of Broken Arrow, OK. He also leaves his best friend, Gilbert Cypert of Hulbert, OK and Acey the Super Pup, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
Graveside Services for Donald “Chick” Dean Morgan will be held on June 17th, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hulbert IOOF Cemetery, with Reverend Dylan Hayes officiating. Online condolences for his family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
