Donna Chunestudey was born on Sunday, March 22nd, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Tony and Mary Jane (Downey) Chunestudey. She grew up in a household with her two brothers and two sisters, Anthony, John Lee, Regina, and Denise. The family moved to Woodland, CA and Donna graduated from Woodland High School in 1971. She was the loving daughter, sister, and aunt, friend and most of all, mother to her beloved daughters, Ana and Gabriella (Bella). She adored them and was so very proud of all their accomplishments. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide at the Juvenile Detention Center in Woodland, CA. She loved her work and was happy to make a difference in people’s lives. When she wasn’t working, she loved to play Bingo, and run around in her garden raising vegetables and flowers, always in the company of her canine companion, Brat. She was always in the kitchen, and loved to make her famous chili and oatmeal cookies, they were the best. She was gifted with a needle and could sew clothes, quilts, blankets, anything. When she had time to be artistic, she loved painting scenic nature. She was stubborn and knew her own mind, She was fiercely independent and liked to discuss politics, women’s rights and other topics of the day. Her sense of humor was great and her love of people unlimited. She passed her capability of doing things herself onto her daughters, and taught them the sky was the limit with their talents. Her health began to fade and she passed from this life on November 7th, 2018 at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 16 days. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Gabriella, her sister Regina, her brother John Lee, and her grandparents.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Ana Preciado and husband Jorge of Woodland, CA, her mother and father, Tony and Mary Jane Chunestudey of Tahlequah, her brother, Anthony Chunestudey and wife Lynda of Rio Linda, CA, and her sister, Denise Chunestudey Cornell and husband Chuck of Mission, TX. She lives on in her two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Xochitl Delgado and husband Alvaro of Woodland, CA, and Jorge Preciado Jr also of Woodland, CA. her great grandchildren are Ava and Ella Delgado. She also leaves nieces, a host of friends and loved ones.
