

Earlene Briggs was born on December 31, 1931 in Tahlequah, OK the daughter of Bruce and Alta (Sims) Jordan. Earlene grew up in Tahlequah area and in 1951 married the love of her life, Dwight Julius Briggs. Earlene was a member of the “Red Hat Society” in Tahlequah and also a proud member of the local VFW serving as the President and holding various offices such as trustee, conductress, and serving as the poppy chairman. Earlene was also a member of the American Legion. She loved the time spent with her friends making ceramics at the senior citizens center and she loved her family.
Earlene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dwight, and a brother Carl Dean Jordan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons Randall and Danny Briggs of Tahlequah, her daughter Zonna Gale Harriett and her husband John of Apex, North Carolina, 5 Grandchildren Mark, Jennifer, Dale, Rachel, and Sarah, and 5 Great Grandchildren.
The family is very grateful to the Hospice of the Cherokee and would ask that donations be made to the organizations in Earlene’s name at “Hospice of the Cherokee 1630 N. Cedar Tahlequah, OK., 74464.
