Weathered black denim duster and black felt hat, the long-legged man with the piercing blue eyes has taken his final ride. Edgar Glenn Forrest “Railey” our Uncle Bub has left this earthly realm to join two other long-legged Forrest men and his mother. Railey was born on June 28, 1957 in Siloam Springs, AR, and made his journey home November 24, 2020 and now walks the streets paved in gold with his brother Randy, Pop and Mom (R.C. and Sydna Forrest).
As we remember, often comes to mind his love of children. Many of times, you would find him spending an afternoon letting his nieces paint his fingernails and braid his hair. Or one might find him with a stray kitten asleep in his beard. Wandering to the door on a cold day to let Baby outside for a potty break. Riding through the hills above Spring Creek on a four-wheeler he called his “bug”. An accomplished horseman and a long-haul truck driver that enjoyed the open road. Time with his Pop, telling stories of all the places he had been and the things that he had seen. He loved a Reese peanut butter cup, a Pepsi and a hot cup of coffee to start the day.
But most of all he loved his family, Mama Rete, Igie Mae and Netta June, his sisters. His children, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews are celebrating his life and remembering this tough guy with a big heart.
Rest easy; the demons are slain; peace is at hand.
Bro. Keith Marler will officiate his memorial service at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Rose Cemetery in Rose, OK, where he will be laid to rest.
