Faye was an adventurer at heart. She loved to use the smattering of Spanish she picked up in her travels. her recipe box was crammed with foreign recipes that she loved to cook for her family. Although her last few years were spent in the Assisted Living facility of Go Ye Village where she couldn't cook, she never tired of clipping out recipes and insisting that her daughter-in-law cook them!
She packed parachutes during WWII, then worked as a telephone operator in the days of "number please?" She was secretary for the High School Princeipal in Tonkawa, OK. Eventually, she was a civil servant, working as a dispatcher at Tinker Air Force Base in Edmond.
She was an animal lover, a people lover and a plant lover! In her last 4 years, she was received into the Catholic faith, following in the footsteps of her son and daughter-in law who had been received one year earlier. She was completely satisfied, consoled, loved and forgiven. She was not afraid of death. She was certain that she would see again her mother, father, husband, sister, son and step-daughter. And we are just as certain that we will see her again, too.
