

Felix Gandy was born on February 14, 1951 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of John and Evelyn Gandy. He departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2017 leaving behind a legacy of love and strength to his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, John Gandy, and grandmothers, Minnie Johnson and Cleo Reynolds.
Felix “Bubby” and “Alley Cat” as he was affectionately called, was easy going, happy, and loved people. Felix grew up and attended school in Tahlequah where he was active in band, basketball and football. He also was a member of the area famous “Malibus” softball team.
He loved his cars especially an “Oldsmobile”. Felix drove trucks and made trips all over the U.S. He often invited family and friends to travel with him. Felix enjoyed taking his grandchildren out to eat or get haircuts. In 1980, Felix married Dorothy Miles. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he played the drums as a choir member.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Evelyn Ross, two brothers, Johnny Gandy of Tahlequah, OK and Sammy Gandy and wife Geraldine of Tahlequah, OK. He leaves one son, Chris Gandy of Muskogee, OK, three daughters, Felicia Gandy of Hawthorn, CA, Nakisha Green of Muskogee, OK, and Geeaneka Gifford of Tahlequah, OK. He has thirteen grandchildren, Demetria Gandy, Brandon Gandy, Aquilla Gandy, Niyazia Gandy, Tyazia Gandy, Jaslynn Gandy, Ja’miah Gandy and Jakeis Gandy, Gerriyon Maxey, LaDayazha Fox, Miltiyanna Gordon, Milton Gordon, and Royalty Parham, a special companion, Cindy Sohroff Sequichie of Tahlequah, OK, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will dearly miss him.
Funeral services for Felix will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Vernell Racy officiating. Interment will follow at Ross Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK. Pallbearers for Felix include Ronnie Ward, Shannon Johnson, Maurice Sheppard, Charles Mayfield, David Keys, and Corey Gandy. Honorary pallbearers include the members of the Antioch Baptist Church and Don Ross. Flower girls will be the Antioch Baptist Church and Gina Mayfield. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Reed Culver Funeral Home.
