Freddie Don Guinn, or” Cowboy” to his family and friends, was born on December 1st, 1964 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Donald Walker and Flora Mae (Wilson) Guinn. He was raised with two brothers and one sister, Dennis, Kristopher and Carolyn. Growing up in Cherokee County, Fred loved fishing and deer hunting more than any other event. He was happiest when he was surrounded by the family he loved, sharing a cookout, and holiday celebrations, especially if they made his favorite, Banana Pudding. Fred was an avid music fan, it didn’t matter what kind and always wanted to learn the guitar. Fred always told people he was born in the wrong century and would have loved to been a cowboy in the wild west. He loved traveling with his dad, and the 18 wheeler trip to Canada was his ultimate in vacations. He was A Christian by faith, and even though he wasn’t able to attend church, he thanked God every night for the gift of a day well spent. You never saw Fred when he wasn’t in the company of his beloved canine companion, Red. They were the best of friends. He was the proud father of a son, David and even more proud of his grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, and Kaytie. He was just as fond of all his nieces and nephews, and couldn’t wait for them to visit. His health faded and the Lord called this very special son, father, grandad, and uncle home from his labors on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 in Tulsa surrounded by those who knew and loved him best. He was 55 years, 9 months and 1 day. Cowboy leaves a void that can never be filled.
Fred is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur Lee and Josephine Guinn, and his maternal grandparents, Claude and Ella Wilson. He has gone to join his Dad, one nephew Matthew Spencer, a great niece, Kali Waterdown, ten uncles and six aunts.
Fred is survived by his mother, Flora Drywater of the home in Tahlequah, son David Guinn-Hall and wife Jessy, three grandchildren, Mark Hall, Matthew Hall, and Kaytie Hall of Tahlequah, one sister, Carolyn and Steve Methvin of Tahlequah, two brothers, Dennis Guinn and wife Sarah of Lost City, Kristopher Guinn and wife Elisha of Tahlequah, two half-brothers, Donald Guinn of Palo Alto, CA, and John Guinn of Arizona, two step-brothers, Val Drywater and wife Tina of Nespelem, WA, Jack Drywater and wife Brooke of Tahlequah, one special sister, Debbie Long of Hulbert, and Ex-wife Leketta Vest of Tahlequah, and a very dear friend, Joyce Hall of Tahlequah, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
