

TAHLEQUAH, OK- Graveside services for Gene Tunney Willhite Jr will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014 at 11:00AM at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Online condolences for Gene’s family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
Honorary pallbearers for Gene include Cherokee Henson, Jesse Willhite, Jeremy Willhite, James Armontrout, Jason Armontrout, and Jay Griffin along with flower girl, Jade Henson.
Gene Tunney Willhite Jr. was born on February 4th, 1951 in French Camp, CA the son of Gene Tunney and Jessie (Farmer) Willhite Sr. After completing school, Gene enlisted in the United States Army in November 20th, 1969 and was honorably discharged, serving in the Vietnam Conflict, in October 14th, 1976. Gene made his living in the construction industry. He was the father of two sons, Jeremy and Jessie Willhite. When he wasn’t working, Gene enjoyed spending his free time outdoors and enjoyed solitude and quiet. Gene passed from this life to his eternal home on Monday, October 6th, 2014. He was 63 years old.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Jessie Willhite of Salt Lake City, UT and Jeremy Willhite of Greenville, SC and two sisters, Evelyn Armontrout of Muskogee, OK and Pam Hood of Tahlequah, OK. His legacy lives on through his two loved grandsons as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
