Georgann Crittenden

Georgann was the kind of woman who found happiness in the simple things and understood that a good life didn’t have to be a complicated one. She loved fishing, flowers, cooking for the people she loved, and settling in with a good book. She was a devoted OU fan, and when the Sooners were playing, there was little question about where her loyalty stood.

Her Bible was never far from reach, and her faith remained an important part of her life. But perhaps what mattered most to Georgann was taking care of her family. She had a way of making sure everyone was fed, looked after, and accounted for, whether they had asked her to or not.

She worked as a line worker for Baldor, but the titles that meant the most were the ones she carried at home: mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was built around the people she loved, the home she cared for, and the ordinary days that, looking back, were anything but ordinary.

Georgann is survived by her sons, Casey Crittenden and wife Becky, and Joel Crittenden; daughter, Karri Crittenden; sister, Jenny Kindle and grandchildren, Tristan Crittenden, Kadden Crittenden, and Kyle Crittenden; and great-grandson, Elijah Crittenden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Derrell Crittenden; her parents, Robert Hitcher and Juanita (Guinn) Hitcher; and her brothers, Jimmy Hitcher, Buck Hitcher, and Eli Hitcher, and sister Peggy Hitcher.

Georgann will be remembered for the way she loved her family, cared for the people around her, and found joy in things that never needed much explanation: flowers growing, fish biting, the Sooners winning, something good cooking, and having her family close by.
