George Willis Clinton was born on February 28th, 1941 in Barber Community, the son of Albert Willis and Thelma Lou Minnie (Parris) Clinton. He attended school at Baggley. George served in the US Marine Corp from 1959 until 1963. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Luper, on August 7th, 1963, in Tahlequah, OK. This union was blessed with four children and would have celebrated 50 years this year. George worked in construction, carpentry, and auto repair. When ever he wasn’t working, George enjoyed time spent hunting coon, deer, elk, and quail. He liked an afternoon spent fishing and was a sports enthusiast, especially Nascar and OU “Sooner” Football. George had a big heart and was as honest and generous as the day was long. He genuinely loved people. Everyone was family to George. Every moment spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and family was special for George. He was as comfortable with a baby sleeping on his chest as he was watching his Biggie ride bulls. There was always room at his table or in his heart for one more child. He was everyone’s favorite “Poppy”, and a super hero to all the lives he touched over the years. A Christian by faith, George was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 31st, 2013 at his home in Tahlequah with his loved ones close to his side. George was 72 years old. He will be greatly missed for the love and guidance he has given over a well lived lifetime. His legacy will live on in his 14 grandchildren, Bonnie, Eddie, Misty, Steph, Amber, Terri, Allan, Samantha, Jake, Bubby, Schaelyn, Joseph, Chase, and Ashley, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends and family than you can count.

Phyllis (Mom), Gary and Lori...
I'm so sorry and I didn't know until just now. I don't know what to say. There are only happy times and smiles that I remember from our Grand View days. Gary and Lori your parents were the "Best Mom and Dad" to all of us growing up and there were always hugs. If you need anything or if there is anything that I can do, I will be glad to. Thinking of you and love you all. Lori Lamons Frank

My mom couldn't ask for better neighbors than George and Phyllis. I felt
much better with her being clear across town from me because I knew they
helped look after her. George was a sweet, sweet man and I will miss
seeing him! My prayers go to Phyllis and all the family.
