George Truitt Postoak

Funeral services for George Truitt “Trudie” Postoak will be held on Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Leach First Baptist Church with Brother Eric Armstrong officiating. His visitation will be held on Monday, August 20th, 2018 at the Leach First Baptist Church beginning at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. He will be laid to rest with his family at Long Prairie Cemetery in Kansas, OK. Online condolences for his family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Pallbearers for George include Paul Baker III, Dylan Baker, Cade Postoak, Timmy Morton, Terry Rackleff and Kirk Postoak. Honorary pallbearers will be Jodie Henson, Creighton Sanders, Noah Sanders, Tyler Riddle, Dewayne Rackleff, Doug Postoak and Bobby Lamont.

George Truitt Postoak, or Trudie to his family and friends, was born on November 5th, 1952, the son of Isaac and Louella Mae (O’Field) Postoak in Tahlequah, OK. There was a large family of brothers and sisters, Eddie, Edwin, Raymond, Harry, Marvin, Phillip, Nadine, Teata, Ataloa, and Lushanyah. He grew up in a Cherokee and Mississippi Choctaw family, and was very proud of his Indian heritage. He earned his living as a small engine repairman; he could take any engine apart and reassemble then better than before. He was the proud papa of one daughter and two sons, Trisha, Tim, Bobby and stepsons, Justin and Seth. He was always ready to go do a little hunting and fishing, he loved the outdoors. He was a big supporter at the Softball and baseball games, and was one of the biggest OU fans you ever met. Once you became his friend, he treated you like family. He put his heart and soul into everything he did, and he was always there for his friends and family when they needed him. He was always happy to gather with his family during the holidays. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially loved cookouts. He had an ornery streak and liked to play tricks and pranks whenever possible. A Christian by faith, he attended the Leach First Baptist Church. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on August 16th, 2018 in Springdale, AR with his family by his side. He was 65 years old. Trudie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, five brothers, Edwin, Raymond, Harry, Marvin and Phillip, his sister, Teata Postoak, and one great niece, India Lewis.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Trisha Baker of Tahlequah, OK, Tim Postoak and wife April of Noel, MO, Bobby Postoak of Siloam Springs, AR, stepsons, Justin Carnes of Tahlequah and Seth Carnes of Ohio, and special friend, Ethel Littlefield of Rose, OK. He leaves one brother and three sisters, Eddie Postoak of Tulsa, OK, Nadine Postoak of Siloam Springs, AR, Ataloa Postoak of Kansas, OK and Lushanyah and husband Jodie of Kansas, OK, He lives on in his eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Courtney Christie, Paul Baker III, Dylan Baker, Alyssa Postoak, Cadence Postoak, Cassidy Postoak, Tehya Postoak, Tessa Postoak, Tyler Riddle, Timmy Morton and Tyson Hanna. His great grandchildren include Cayce Christie, Samuel “Blade” Christie Jr., Lillian Baker, Nolan Baker, Blakely Baker and Baby Aubrey Marie on the way, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
