

Born on August 6, 1939, Gerald grew up in Follansbee, West Virginia, where he attended school. As a child, he lived in various cities in West Virginia, and as an adult, he resided in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Gerald spent many years working as a road construction supervisor in West Virginia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He had a passion for various hobbies, including scuba diving, bike riding on his Harley, traveling, and woodworking.
On May 4, 1974, Gerald married the love of his life, Cloydena May Grove, in Washington, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. One of his most memorable vacations was to Newfoundland, Canada, with his wife, Cloydena. After retiring, Gerald and Cloydena made the move to Oklahoma, where they eventually settled in Park Hill. In 2019, they purchased an RV and spent their golden years traveling the country, exploring new places, and making unforgettable memories together.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Gerald was an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. Music also played a significant role in Gerald's life, and he was particularly fond of country music, with Loretta Lynn being his favorite artist. He even visited Butcher Holler, a nod to his love for the genre.
Gerald's sense of humor was renowned, and he often found joy in the simple things. He lived his life with toughness and determination, always working hard until he couldn't anymore. Despite his tough exterior, he had a heart of gold and a deep love for his family.
Gerald was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Elson Stewart and Dorothy (Barnhart) Stewart; daughter, Dena Rae; brother, Sonny Stewart; and sisters, Betty Stewart and Sharon Stewart.
Those left to carry on his legacy include his wife, Cloydena May (Grove) Stewart; sons, Dana Stewart of Muskogee, Oklahoma David Stewart and wife Kristen of Springfield, Missouri; daughters, Natalie Spangler and husband Kevin of Claysville, Pennsylvania, Brenda Galloway and husband Chuck of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; brother, Russ Stewart of Follansbee, West Virginia; sisters, Joyce Stewart of South Carolina, and Shirley Stewart of West Virginia; six grandchildren, Gerald, Jodie, Mallory, Jacob, Alyssa, and Ashton; and seven great-grandchildren, Willow, Cooper, Ellie Mae, Hayden, Lexie, Shae, and Julie.
Gerald would want to be remembered as a strong, hardworking man with a sense of humor and a deep love for his family. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
