Glen E. Raper was born on April 22, 1939 at the family home in Ft. Gibson, OK the son of Charlie and Alvaretta (Hubbard) Raper. After finishing high school, Glen relocated to the state of California. It was here he met and married the love of his life, Barbara June Van Worth, on June 29, 1958 in Bakesfield. This union was blessed with one daughter and four sons. Glen was employed as a mechanic for the Kern County Department of Roads in Kern County, California. When he wasn’t working, Glen loved to work on cars. He had a passion for flying and was thrilled whenever he could accompany his son David on a plane. He was planning a trip to Arizona where he was anxious to fly in a helicopter. He loved being out of doors and loved nature. He was often accompanied by his canine companions and kept fish in his pond, just for the pleasure of feeding them daily. Glen was quiet and thoughtful, often sitting back and laughing at the antics of his family as they gathered at the family home. Glen attended the First Baptist Church of Hulbert and was so grateful he had found the love of Christ as his personal Savior. Glen loved his wife, children, and grandchildren dearly and had hoped to leave the message of Christ’s never ending love for each and every one of them, and hoped they would attain this special love. Glen passed from this life on October 20, 2010 at his home in Hulbert with his loving wife at his side. He was seventy one years old. Glen will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
