Gracie Blabber Elane Humphrey Kirk

Gracie Elane Kirk, of Tahlequah, was born Thursday, April 26, 1934 in Porum, Oklahoma to Sam and Pearl Mae Slavens Humphrey and died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Tahlequah at the age of 76 years and 2 days.

She was affectionately nicknamed “Blabber” because she LOVED to talk! She loved her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, camping, CNN, especially Nancy Grace and her scooter (she would go ANYWHERE on it). She was a computer fanatic, playing Solitaire, Hearts and FreeCell. She never deleted an email as she thought they were ALL important! She was not much into fishing as she had only caught three perch in her whole life!

She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jalaina DeLois Kirk on July 15, 1990; brothers, Robert, Harold and Jay Humphrey; sisters, Ruthie McCoy and Eulafaye Hignite.

She is survived by her husband, whom she wed in August of 1954, Kelly F. Kirk of Tahlequah; sons, Barry F. Kirk and his wife Marty Ann of Marble City, Oklahoma, Riley James Kirk of Tahlequah; daughters, Kellie Elaine Payne and her husband Steven of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Vicki Renae Gilstrap and her husband Tom of Katy, Texas, Karla Hopkins and her husband Bucky of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; brother, Frank D. Humphrey of Stilwell, Oklahoma; sister, Rosie Schaffer of Del City, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Reed~Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Barry F. Kirk officiating and assisted by Brother Kermit Mullin. Burial will be in the Tahlequah City Cemetery with Bucky Hopkins, Tom Gilstrap, Steven Payne, Caleb Briggs, Jeremy Martin, John Swanson, Brad Chaser and Kelly Charles Kirk serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Gilstrap, Riley Hopkins and Braeden Hopkins.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm Friday at Reed~Culver Funeral Home.
