Henry "Hank" John Olivares

Funeral services for Henry “Hank” John Olivares will be held on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Sam Keener officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, February 15th, 2016 from noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at 1:00 Pm on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 with Ft. Sill providing Army Honors. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Pallbearers for Hank include Brandon Arnall, Sammy Allen, Justin Handle, Jeffrey Girty, Tony Tedder, and Tim Irvin. Honorary pallbearers include Richard Shade, Ronnie Arnall, Carl “Terry” Shade Jr., Larry Irvin, Mike Fishinghawk, Nathaniel “Earl” Handle, and Robbie Nunez.

Henry “Hank” John Olivares was born on July 20th, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of David and Rosario (Borjon) Olivares. Encouraged by his mother, Hank and his twin brother Ernesto, spent most of their early childhood in front of a camera. He completed school in Whittier, and enlisted in the US Army, serving as a supply clerk from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1963. He became an arborist by trade and also spent time learning the mason trade from his father-in-law Carl Shade. On March 15th, 1964, Hank married, Cindy Shade in Las Vegas, NV. Together they raised a family of two sons and one daughter, Aramis, Aaron, and Gina. Hank enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was proud of all of their achievements. Hank enjoyed reading and was like a walking sports encyclopedia. He loved sports especially his favorite team, the USC Trojans. A Christian by faith, Hank was a Roman Catholic. God called this wonderful husband, father, and friend home on February 10th, 2016 at his home in Hulbert. He was 77 years old. Hank is preceded in death by his mother and father, and twin brother, Ernesto Olivares.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cindy of the home in Hulbert. He leaves his children, Aaron Henry Olivares and wife Jalene R. of Ft. Gibson, OK, Aramis Paul Olivares of Hulbert, OK, and Gina Olivares-Hartig and husband Gary D. of Ft. Branch, IN. He has three brothers, Paul Olivares, David Olivares Jr. and John Olivares, all of California. Hank leaves five grandchildren, Eric Olivares and fiancé Erica, Anthony Olivares and wife Julia, Colton Olivares, Jordan Hartig, Garrett Hartig, and great grandson Ryan Anthony Olivares, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
