Henry “JR” Holmes was born on August 1st, 1973 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Henry Sr and Rebecca (Jones) Holmes. JR’s childhood was an idyllic time in his life, he often reminisced about riding his bike and playing outside in the creek.
He attended Keys Grade School and Tahlequah High School (Class of 1991), where he made lifelong friendships.
Henry enjoyed his time working at the Moo-vie Store and Georgia Pacific. He often talked about the fun times he had with his co-workers.
He loved rock music and never missed the chance to go to a concert. He loved movies and had quite an extensive collection.
Henry was a trivia buff. He had an amazing memory. He was very knowledgeable about a variety of subjects and was well-versed in categories about pop culture, TV & movies, and popular music. He was also very witty and fun so no doubt he was voted as class clown.
A Christian by faith, the Lord called JR home knowing he completed his assignment here on earth. He packed a lot of life in his 49 years and he will be forever missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, his sister, Joyce James and his brother, Manuel Holmes.
Those left to celebrate his life include his mother, Rebecca Holmes, two brothers, Richard Holmes and wife Sue of Bunch, Tony Jones and wife Annah of Stilwell, and three sisters, Mildred Bolin and husband Dean of Bunch, Bonnie Jones of Tahlequah, Evelyn Adair of Houston, TX, and honorary sister, Sommer Adair of Houston, TX.
