

Coweta, OK – Funeral services for Houston Henson will be held on Tuesday, September 30th, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Reed-Culver Chapel. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th, 2014 from 10:00 Am until 6:00 PM. Interment will be held at Keener Cemetery in the Lost City vicinity. Pallbearers for Houston include Dustin Henson, Jonathan Henson, Jacob Kilgore, Chris Pearson, Ron Henson, and Justin Henson. Honorary pallbearers include Ed Henson, Roy Henson, Jerry Henson, Don Henson, and Luther Henson.
Houston Henson was born on December 13th, 1935 in Hulbert, OK the son of Major and Susie (Osage) Henson. Houston was an outdoorsman who loved a good fishing trip and time spent working in his garden. Houston was the grill master of the family and enjoyed get-togethers watching OU Football or catching an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game. He was a huge supporter of the Coweta Lady Tigers softball team and loved going out to the fields to cheer them on. Houston passed from this life on Thursday, September 25th, 2014 in Tulsa, OK. He was 79 years old.
Houston is preceded in death his parents; five brothers, Cecil, Sam, Chester, Charles and Clark Henson; two sisters, Sarah and Beulah Henson.
Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, Robert Henson of Coweta, Michael Henson of Lawton and Charles Henson of Catoosa; one daughter, Janette Henson of Coweta and one sister, Ada Cheater of Hulbert. His legacy lives on in eleven grandchildren, Nichole Henson, Natasha Nelson, Alwyn Brown, Michael Henson, Matthew Henson, Jonathan Henson, Randi Kilgore, Jacob Kilgore, Jeslyn Kilgore, Kathlynn Henson and Dustin Henson; eight great-grandchildren, Zylar Henson, Lexi Nelson, Giuliana Nelson, Kaeden Cherry, Karissa Henson, Jonathan Henson Jr., Carter Kilgore and Jaxon Summers, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
