I put this on the Muskogee Phoenix Website for Grandpa on May 28th. With so many kind words here I thought I should share it here as well.

Never easy to say goodbye. But always easier when we know they will be in Heaven walking with Jesus.

It's a time to celebrate a life, not to mourn a death. I only knew 'Grandpa' for about 10 years but the time I spent with him was great. That man loved his family most of all. When I say that I mean THAT MAN LOVED HIS FAMILY, every single one of them, from his siblings, down to the newest baby, to the latest individual that became family by marriage. I encourage everyone to always remember that love.

Howard is at peace now and in a great place. Celebrate his life, a life that walked with the Lord our God.

Thank you for everything Howard, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Grandpa Great, or Grandpa Grape. We love you, I love you.

In Jesus Name...

I know you're in a better place, and I'm sure you're enjoying family and friends on the other side. We miss you, and we look forward to seeing you again.

We will never forget the love and devotion you showed each of us, your friends and family. When the scriptures talk about those who had that Christlike love, that Charity, your example comes to my mind.

I love you Grandpa, and I know you love me.

Aunt Ruth and family, our love and sympathy goes out to each of you. Uncle Doug has been an inspiration to me and my family, he was always cheerful and gave each of us words of encouragement. He always showed great love to his family, he was never a stranger to people-he spoke to everyone. It was a joy for me to work with him in church and in construction work. His encouragement, joyfulness and smile will always be remembered. Randy, Donna & family

Our heart and sympathy goes out to you all. Doug will be greatly missed. He was a great influence to Rick and I. Oh we loved visiting with you guys and all the stories you shared. Your testimonies have greatly influenced Rick and I especially myself while growing up. I don't think I would be as strong in the gospel had it not been for Doug and Ruth's strong testimony. My family and I thank you for your testimony of the gospel. Our prayers go out to you at this time. Rick and Ronda Huckbay and family
