Jamie Ann Ritchie was born on September 14th, 1953 in Muskogee, OK the daughter of James Edward and Wilma (Cannon) Hill. She went to school and graduated, beginning her career as a Teacher’s Aide, specializing in special needs children at Harris Jobe Elementary. It was at this time she would meet the love of her life, Cliff Anderson Ritchie. They were wed on June 26th, 1995, making their home in Tahlequah. The most important part of her life was her husband, children and grandchildren. She worked hard to make their house a home, often cooking her special oatmeal cookies, and would gladly share her recipes if asked. She also enjoyed doing crafts and could sew with the best of them, but her favorite place to be was the great outdoors. She possessed a green thumb and raised the most beautiful roses. Jamie was always ready to have the grandchildren come to visit and tell her about their day and activities, including Tyler’s big fish he caught at the pond. Jamie loved to have friends and family over to the house to share a cup of coffee and a cookie and perhaps a story or two. When she had a little free time, she would watch her old westerns, and play games on her tablet. She always held her family and friends close to her heart, and she will be truly missed by all who knew her. She passed from this life on February 1st, 2022 at her home surrounded by those she loved. She was 68 years of age and has left a lifetime of memories to be treasured.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother and father.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Cliff Ritchie of the home in Tahlequah. She also leaves her children, James Gabriel Hill and wife Cheri and their children, Gwen, Ava, and Nora of Pennsylvania, and Edward Hill and his son Tyler of Broken Arrow, OK, her sister Janice Kay Hill of Dallas, TX.
The family would like to take this moment to thank the following people: Blaine and Melissa Johnson for their loving care during her illness, Cherokee County Barn Number 2 and Chris Jenkins for all the support, and many thanks to Genie and Roger for feeding the family and checking on our welfare.
