Jesse Ray Langston

Jesse Ray Langston was born on September 1st ,1952, in California, the son of Guy Major and Elsie (Vaughn) Langston. He grew up in a family with five brothers and three sisters, Ray, Guy Jr., Glenn, Floyd, Roy, Norma, Joyce and Kathy. The family returned from California to the Fort Gibson area of Oklahoma, and Jesse graduated from school in Fort Gibson.

Jesse was a man of many talents and could build and repair small engines, raise dairy cattle and gaming fowl, and build towers. He enjoyed life on the farm and life on his own terms. There was nothing better than an all-night catfish fishing expedition and would often accompany his friends Kevin and Cheryl on an all-night fishing expedition. He collected knives and could sharpen them to split a hair. He could find a deer and hunt arrowheads with the best of them. He was the proud papa of two daughters, Kaca and Jessica, he loved them dearly.

He married the love of his life, Kristie Richardson, on December 4th ,2008, in Ft. Smith, AR. Together they cared for their animals as well as enjoyed each other’s company. They had an affectionate name for their home, Bedrock. It was here that Jesse was happiest, had the most fun, worked on telling the perfect riddle, and worked on ways to get into more mischief. He was the grandad that loved to make you smile and was happy to see any of his 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. For all his plans for the future, he loved to spread the word of God, and Jesse peacefully passed from this life on July 26th, 2026, in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 73 years. He will be greatly missed all who were lucky enough to call him friend.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, Guy Vernon Langston and Tommy Langston, and his daughter, Kaca, and stepson Brandy Medrano.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Kristie of the home on Bedrock, daughter, Jessica Langston of Tahlequah, OK, and stepdaughter Samantha Cole of Vinita, OK. He also leaves his brothers and sisters, Norma Landers and husband Jon, Joyce McFarland and husband Kevin, Kathy Morgan and husband Bill, Floyd Langston and wife Sondra, Roy Langston and wife Tammy, and Glenn Langston and wife Jolene, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
