Jessie (Grinder) Fleming passed from this life on September 27th, 2021 in Tahlequah, OK after reaching the age of 96 years of age. She was born on January 31st, 1925 in Harrison, AR, the daughter of Ulis and Maggie (Depriest) Grinder. She grew up in a household with her two brothers and four sisters, George, LD, Lois, Willie, Johnnie, and Dorothy. She graduated from high school and then decided to start her family. She married William Paul Fleming and together they raised a family of two sons and one daughter, Jeffery, William and Paula. She earned her living as a Master Upholsterer. Her skills were unmatched and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t fix once she put her mind to it. Once at home, her husband and her children were first and foremost on her mind. She raised big beautiful gardens, canning the produce she got from that garden. She was the most loving and kind mother, always wanting the best for her children and expecting the very best they had to give. She was blessed with a servants heart, always looking to help anyone that needed her help, and doing all she could to make life a little better than they found it. She was a Christian by heart and a member of the United Methodist Church. She attended regularly and always helped whenever asked, to do whatever was needed. She held a very special place in her heart for her seven special grandchildren, she adored them. It didn’t matter if she made them their favorite treat or just spent the day with them, they were her best friends in the whole world. She was so very proud of them.
She will be laid to rest at a later date with her family in attendance.
The family would like to take this chance to thank Alicia McBride and the BancFirst Staff of Inola for all the wonderful, kindness and care you gave during her last year. We are so honored to have a friend like Mom.
