Jessie Doyle Taylor was born on Thursday, December 29th, 1932 in Braggs, OK, the son of Leonard and Mary Anne (Langston) Taylor. He grew up in a household with five brothers and three sisters, Albert, Tommy, Leo, Major, Billy, Pauline, Mary Alliene, and Marie. He attended school at Manard School, and then went to work and never stopped until he passed. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, he was a mechanic, roofed houses, built houses, built car washes, worked at the feed store and was a retired Tie Gang worker for Missouri Pacific railroad. Of all his proud accomplishments, it was being Daddy to three sons and two daughters, Jesse, Jimmie, Carmell, Pat and Sheila. He absolutely adored them and would do anything for them. He taught everyone of his children to drive, he would put them in the truck and away they went to conquer the unknown! He kept the kids in at night by telling them spooky stories of the man that wandered the roads at night grabbing young ones that weren’t home where they belonged. He loved to tell a good story, and the man never ran out of jokes, his sense of humor was endless. He loved the country life, working his gardens, tending his livestock, and most of all, he loved his tractor! It was his favorite mode of transportation. He was often seen with a grandchild sitting beside him while he taught them to belt out “Corina Corina” at the top of their lungs. Any time from work was probably spent at home with the family he adored, and watching wrestling, he was a big fan. He taught his children and grandchildren morals and values, and the importance of being good for your word. He really liked to visit with the local lawn repair man and catch up on the latest goings on of all the neighbors and friends. Family gatherings with his family and friends for the holiday and weekends were Jessie’s absolute best days ever. He never tired of the simple pleasures of life like watching the sun come up on his front porch, or the giggle of a grandchild on his knee. He passed from this life on Friday, December 21st, 2018 at the age of 85 years old. He leaves a void that will never be filled. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, four brothers, Albert Taylor, Tommy Taylor, Leo Taylor and Major Langston and one sister, Marie Phillips, grandparents Ellen Choate and Thomas Langston, and his beloved grandson, Thomas Mitchell Blair Jr. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jesse Leonard Taylor of Tahlequah, Jimmie Taylor and wife Debbie of Hulbert, Pat Gross of Hulbert, Carmell Taylor of Lufkin, TX, and Sheila Lopez and husband Elias of Wagoner, OK. He leaves one brother, Billy Taylor of Muskogee and two sisters, Pauline Summerlin and husband Don of Ft. Gibson, and Mary Alliene Stanley of Tahlequah. Jessie lives on in his thirteen grandchildren, Mike Taylor and Brooke , Candice Bear, Jimmy Doyle Taylor, Gregory Lewis Taylor and wife Kimberly, Ashley Green and husband John, Vanessa Murray, Nathan Taylor, Adam Taylor, Alexandria Taylor, Allie Gayle Taylor, Jeslee Taylor and wife Michelle, and Brent Taylor and wife Christy, as well as 24 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
