

Jimmie Diane Jones, age 71, a devoted nurse and caretaker, passed away peacefully at her home in Oklahoma on May 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 24, 1953, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Alton Ray Duffield and Betty Duffield (Thompson), Jimmie grew up with a nurturing spirit that would define her life's work.
As a nurse, Jimmie touched countless lives with her compassion and dedication. Her love for others extended beyond her profession, as she was always a shoulder to cry on for family and friends. Her strong will and caring nature made her a pillar in her community.
Jimmie's relationship with her soulmate, Don Jackson, was a testament to her capacity for deep love and connection. He was the love of her life, and the two shared countless memories together. Though his passing came before hers, Jimmie cherished the time they had together, and his memory remained a source of comfort and joy in her life.
Jimmie's passions included tending to her garden and flowerbeds, where she found solace and joy. She adored her dogs and cherished time spent with them. Reading was another favorite pastime, with James Patterson being one of her beloved authors. She also enjoyed crocheting and listening to old country music. Memories of trips to the casino with her father brought smiles to her face. Memories of Jimmie often include images of her surrounded by her beloved chickens. Her love for life's simple pleasures was contagious, and she inspired those around her to appreciate the beauty in everyday moments. Her family was her rock, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents, Alton Ray Duffield and Betty Duffield (Thompson); her beloved Don Jackson; and her siblings, Charles Duffield, Ronald Duffield, and Margaret Dotson.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Horawa of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her brothers, David Thompson and wife Carol of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and James Duffield of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
