Jimmie “Chooch” Dewayne McManus was born on May 22, 1968, to Jimmie and Linda Kaye (Sanders) McManus. On January 13, 2025, he departed this life to be with his Creator and the love of his life Tresa Ann Nofire, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Chooch graduated from Tenkiller Elementary School and then went on to graduate from Cave Springs High School in 1987. After high school, he became a mason and general laborer by trade. Chooch always loved being in the outdoors, you could often find him in the woods looking for mushrooms, knapping arrowheads, or hunting with his boys. If he wasn’t in the woods, you could find Chooch playing pool at Steve and Amy’s house with his friends, family game night at his parent’s house, or joking around giving someone a hard time.
Those left to cherish his memory is his mother Linda Kaye (Sanders) McManus of Tailholt; one son, Brayden McManus of Tailholt; three daughters, Meghan and husband Charles Vasquez of Bartlesville, Cherish Crocker, and Tana Glass of Stilwell; five grandchildren Tayecen, Tyley, Hennessy, Aero Ann, Beau Ann; one sister, Donna and husband Martin Webb of Tailholt; one nephew, Trae and wife Jessie Webb of Welling; 2 nieces Sara and Stephanie Webb of Tailholt; and many beloved family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie McManus, grandparents, James and Dixie McManus and John and Viola Sanders, one nephew, Dalton Stevens along with numerous aunts and uncles.
A time of visitation will be held for Chooch on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00am at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Ross Wolfe officiating and tribute by Tonya Girdner-Tidwell. He will be laid to rest at Caney Cemetery in Tailholt.
Serving as pallbearers are Nate Scheu, Jarred Davis, Darrel King, Steve Silcox, Trae Webb, Lane Hall, Brett Carloss, David Fatherree, Sara Webb, Stephanie Webb, Martin Webb, Joe Sweet, Tony Hall, Scott Weir, Clay Collins and Nick Thompson.
