

Joseph Andrew Jackson was born October 22, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Joe was a graduate of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa. After graduation Joe joined the Marine Corps in July 1973 and was stationed in Japan and the Philippines as a Marine Corps avionic/aviation electronics technician which involved repairs on weapon systems, flight instruments, navigation systems and communication instruments aboard Marine aircraft.
After leaving the Marine Corps he attended Tulsa Community College and the University of Tulsa. He married Susan Cole in 1978. They had three daughters that he adored Annabelle, Virginia, and Bonnie. Joe, using the skills he acquired from the military worked as a Technology Service Tech for Ricoh, Ikon and Mirex, providing onsite repairs and phone support. He enjoyed accompanying the girls on camping trips with the Girl Scouts and enjoyed taking the family to movies and amusement parks, especially ones with roller coasters. Although a dog lover, he was very fond of the family cats that the girls acquired over the years. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, involving camping, fishing, and hunting. He even dabbled in scuba diving. He liked hunting ducks here in Oklahoma and the opening day of pheasant season in Kansas with friends for many years and could be found wandering through Bass Pro acquiring ideas for new adventures. Joe also enjoyed video games and cards and was always ready for poker night with friends. With his electronic background he built computers for the entire family and also could be found in the backyard preparing something good to eat on his smoker or grill. Although a prostate cancer survivor, it was pneumonia that took Joe on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Henry C. and Pauline Jackson and his older brother Mike Jackson.
He leaves behind his wife Susan, daughters Annabelle, Virginia, and Bonnie. Brothers Tom Jackson and wife Jayne, William Jackson and wife Juli, sisters Jackie Crisp and husband Perry, Elizabeth Kettler and husband Scott, sister-in-law Melissa Jackson, six nieces and nephews and one Great nephew.
