Joy Kathleen Orm

Memorial services for Joy Kathleen Orm will be held on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 at St. Brigid Catholic Church with Father Jeff Polasek officiating. Joy will lay to rest at Greenleaf Cemetery in Tahlequah, OK. Online condolences for Joy‘s family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Joy Kathleen Orm was born on June 24th, 1972 in Warwick, RI, the daughter of Jerry and Kathleen Mary (Maguire) Orm. The family moved to San Antonio, TX, and Joy graduated from James Madison High School May 30th, 1991. She attended college, then relocated to the Tahlequah, OK area. She worked at the dry cleaners in town as the manager for Bennett Guthrie. They fell in love and began their life together. Joy loved living in the country. She liked taking long walks with her canine companions, listening to the birds and finding interesting objects to photograph. She ran a nursery business for two years, nurturing young plants and selling them. She enjoyed time scrapbooking and loved collecting marbles, having a large and quite extensive collection at her time of passing. The pride and happiness of her life was her son, Bailey. She loved any chance she had to share a talk or a joke. Bennett often took Joy along with him whenever he traveled,together they toured Louisville, KY, Milwaukee, WI, Cleveland, OH, Washington, DC, Ft. Benning, GA, Ft. Hood, TX, and Ft. Bragg, NC. Joy became Catholic after moving to Tahlequah, and was a member of S. Brigid Catholic Church. She enjoyed the church family celebrations, and always made something special from her kitchen to share. Joy was quiet and thoughtful, never one to draw attention to herself. The Lord called Joy from her earthly home on April 20th, 2016 at her home in Park Hill, OK. Joy was 43 years old.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Bennett Guthrie of the home and her son, Baily Arner, also of the home in Park Hill. She leaves one half- brother as well as many friends and loved ones.
