Karry Wade Jackson
March 1, 1947 – April 9, 2021
Karry Wade Jackson was born on March 1st, 1947, in Hayward, CA, the son of George Franklin and Leota Irene (Seiger) Jackson. He grew up with two sisters, Dian Jackson-Black and Dona Jackson-Napier. Upon graduating from high school, Karry enlisted in the US Navy. He would dedicate twenty plus years of his life as a Hull Technician Chief and when not on board ship, performed maintenance for the Navy as well. He was awarded the Gold Star, the Maritorious Unit Commendation, the National Defense Service Medal, three Bronze Stars, Vietnam Service Medal, just to name a few. He was a hard working seaman that put the safety of his fellow sailors ahead of his own, always giving 150 percent. When he wasn’t sailing the seas, he was the husband of Patricia Moscou-Jackson and the father of four sons and one daughter, Robert, Tammy, Mark, Tommy and Terry. He retired after his military career and then began another twenty year career working for a company that built oil rig motors. He could build and repair anything the company came up with. He would later travel repairing the units he helped to assemble to keep them in top running order. When he wasn’t working which was seldom, he enjoyed a day at the lake fishing, a good game of pool, exercising his green thumb in the garden and Thursday afternoon at the VFW drinking a little cold beer with the boys and playing a few hands of cards. He read Popular Science, was an avid Star Trek fan, and listened to all kinds of music. He loved his children, and they knew exactly where they stood with Dad, he never told you where you stood, you saw it in his eyes! They were soulful and expressive. He was a man of few words, and possessed a wickedly funny sense of humor. Karry was kind, generous, and giving of his time and talent. Following the death of his first wife, Karry married Kelly Ann Liska in 2006. They enjoyed their lake side life until her passing in 2019. Following her passing, Karry was often found running around with his sidekick Rex. Together they always found a Nascar race to watch, a steak to grill and took turns keeping his favorite canine companion Lady from chewing their legs off. Kerry was always supportive of his family and friends, just wanting the pleasure of your company. He was proud of his service to his country and continued to serve in the both the VFW and the American Legion in Tahlequah. His health began to fail him, and in true Karry style, he never grumbled or complained. He fought a good fight, gave it all he had to give until his health prevented him from carrying on. He passed from this life on April 9th, 2021 in Little Rock, AR with his son at his side. He was 73 years old and leaves a legacy of honesty, hard work, and being the best man for the job because he could be. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to call him friend.
Karry is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, George and Leota Jackson, his first wife, Patricia and his second wife Kelly, and his daughter, Tammy Jenkins in 2006.
