Larry Burtis Ferguson was born on February 8th, 1946, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Burtis and Mabel (Wann) Ferguson. He grew up in Tahlequah and while attending school, developed a deep love of photography and worked as a projectionist at the Dream Theatre. Upon graduating, he began his studies at Northeastern State University, and enlisted into the United States Air Force. He served from 1966 until 1970, with most of his time being done at the USAF Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. He was honorably discharged from McChord AFB in Tacoma, WA. After returning to Tahlequah, OK, he finished his studies at NSU and started his studies at TU in Tulsa. It was during this time, his first wife, Rita Waddle Ferguson and Larry welcomed their two daughters into the world, Kelly Kristine and Lisa LaJean. Larry received his Juris Doctorate in Law and practiced Law prior to working his own business. While he was in Tulsa, he met Rebecca Cargill and they were married on May 15th, 1981 at the family home on Goingsnake in Tahlequah by Judge Bliss. Together they ran Eastside Florist. His mother and father's health began to fade, and Larry cared for both of them until they passed. Larry loved any chance to spend time with his daughters, they were his pride and joy. He made every effort to attend their activities, and always let them know he was there for them. He ran his own Ebay business specializing in photography equipment for all types of cameras. He looked forward to visits with his grandson, Caleb, and in his earlier years, his big sister Shelba, his brother-in-law, Bill and their family. There was nothing better than putting his feet up and watching a good movie with one of his feline companions curled up nearby. He was quiet, thoughtful and reserved, but always had a smile and a hello anytime you ran into him. Larry passed from this life on February 7th, 2024 in Muskogee, OK. He was 77 years old and will not be forgotten.
