Lewis was born on January 26, 1958, in Mojave, California, to Nophaie James Long and Darlene Long. Lewis worked as an electrician for many years in Texas before retiring and returning to Tahlequah, where he made his home. Lewis enjoyed hunting and fishing and had an interest in cars, especially in his younger years. He liked being outdoors and was happiest when he had a line in the water or was out in the woods. Those were the kinds of days he looked forward to. He was a simple man and kept his life that way. He liked things that worked and didn’t have much use for anything complicated, and he never felt the need to make a fuss.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Nophaie Long and Darlene Long; his brother, Nophaie James Long; and an infant sister. He is survived by his uncle Steve Long and wife Margie; his uncle J.C. Long and wife Charlene; and his cousins, Stephanie Ogden, Deborah Baldridge, Jeff Long, Robbie Long, Becky Long, and Angie Long.
Lewis lived a quiet life, worked hard, and stayed true to the things he cared about. He will be missed by his family and those who knew him.
